Carrie Underwood’s “Storyteller Tour” Selling Out Arenas including Madison Square Garden
NASHVILLE, Tenn – (October 10, 2016) – Carrie Underwood’s “The Storyteller Tour – Stories in the Round” continued this past weekend with two sold-out concerts at Des Moines’ Wells Fargo Arena and Sioux Falls, SD’s Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, the latter of which set a new attendance record previously held by Elton John from last October. The tour was recently praised by Forbes as one of the ‘10 hottest tours of the fall.’
“The Storyteller Tour” has performed for over 800,000 fans since launching on January 30 playing to sold-out arena crowds in cities such as Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington DC, St. Louis, Denver, Phoenix, San Antonio, Houston, Chicago, Toronto, Hershey, and this past weekend in Des Moines and Sioux Falls, to name a few. Billboard ranked it as the #1 country tour for the first half of 2016. Upcoming sold-out shows include New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
Next week, Carrie will route the tour through Nashville to be honored for the third time by CMT as one of their “Artists of The Year.” Carrie will be recognized for her domination in country music in the last 12 months for her music chart success with three back-to-back #1 singles from her Gold-certified Storyteller album, ruling CMT platforms, and her highly successful “The Storyteller Tour.” The CMT “Artists of the Year” special premieresThursday, October 20 at 8PM ET/PT.

A donation of $1 from each ticket sold on the U.S. dates of “The Storyteller Tour” will be contributed to the C.A.T.S Foundation to help aid its causes including Checotah, Oklahoma’s education and literacy programs. Established in 2009, the C.A.T.S. (Checotah Animal, Town, and School) Foundation helps with general causes, needs, and services in the area of Checotah, Oklahoma, Carrie’s hometown, to directly impact the community.
Each of Carrie’s three previous headline arena tours, 2008’s Carnival Ride Tour, the Play On Tour in 2010, and 2012-2013’s Blown Away Tour played for over one million fans. When the Blown Away Tour wrapped in 2013, Carrie had performed 112 shows in 110 cities across three continents and six countries, including sold-out shows at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall, and two nights at the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia.
