Carrie to Perform on Saturday Night Live March 24th!!
NASHVILLE – (Mar 12, 2007) Two-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood will become the eighth country music artist (Garth, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, Keith Urban, Willie Nelson, Randy Travis, Dolly Parton) to appear in the past 20 years on Saturday Night Live when she performs on March 24. Underwood will sing hits from her 5 million selling album SOME HEARTS.
Underwood’s career has garnered 2 Grammy Awards, 2 Country Music Association Awards, 2 Academy of Country Music Awards, 2 CMT Awards, 2 People’s Choice Awards, 8 Billboard Awards and more since winning American Idol in May 2005. She will spend time in the studio this spring recording her sophomore album due out later this year.
Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning will host March 24.

Carrie nominated for 5 ACM Awards!!
NASHVILLE, TN – (Mar. 5, 2007) – Carrie Underwood woke up at her home in Nashville to great news this morning after a call from her manager informed her she receives five nominations for this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards. Underwood’s nomination categories are: Female Vocalist, Album (Some Hearts), Single of the Year, Song of The Year and Video- all for “Before He Cheats.” Underwood receives her first nominations in the ACM’s Video and Album categories.
“I feel like I am still in a dream,” says Underwood. “My life has been such a whirlwind in the past two years, so please don’t wake me up!”
Underwood took home 2 trophies at last year’s awards- Top New Female Vocalist and Single of The Year for “Jesus, Take The Wheel.” The Academy of Country Music Awards airs on May 15 on the CBS Television Network.
Underwood will fly to Los Angeles to appear on American Idol this Thursday, March 8 to perform her current smash single “Wasted.”
