Carrie’s ‘Idol Gives Back’ segment available on iTunes!
“I’ll Stand By You”
NASHVILLE – (April 26, 2007) – Carrie Underwood’s “Idol Gives Back” music video package, which was filmed during her trip to Africa earlier this month and aired on last night’s American Idol, is now available via download at iTunes. All proceeds from downloads for this special acoustic audio version of The Pretenders’ song “I’ll Stand By You,” as well as the video, will go to the Charity Projects Entertainment Fund (CPEF). CPEF has partnered with American Idol and their corporate sponsors to raise awareness and funds for organizations that provide relief programs to help children and young people in extreme poverty in America and Africa.

To thank all of her loyal fans Carrie will be throwing a party exclusively for you – her Official Fan Club members!
The lucky members chosen will be able to meet fellow Official Fan Club members, PLUS watch a live performance of Carrie and take part in Meet & Greet and Q&A sessions!!!
The party will be held on Tuesday June 5th at 3 pm on the stage of the Acuff Theatre in the Grand Ole Opry Entertainment Complex.
Every member is allowed to bring one guest, but each guest must be a member of the Official Fan Club. If you would like to enter the drawing to attend the party, please RSVP to CarrieFanParty@carrieunderwood.fm. Make sure to include your full name, screen name and phone number in your email (and include the same information of your guest). The deadline to RSVP is 10:00 pm on Sunday May 6th. Confirmation emails will be sent on Tuesday May 8th to those Official Fan Club members who’ve been randomly selected to attend.
Rules/Guidelines
*You must be a member of Carrie’s Official Fan Club to attend the event. If you would like a friend/spouse/child to attend the party with you, he or she will have to have their own fan club membership. For members chosen who are between 13 and 17 years old, ONE parent or legal guardian is permitted to accompany that chosen member.
*You must bring a picture ID with you in order to gain access to the party, unless you are a child who does not have a picture ID. Your ID will be matched to the master guest list to gain entry to the party.
*Party confirmations are non-transferable. If you receive a confirmation but are unable to attend please notify the fan club as soon as possible at CarrieFanParty@carrieunderwood.fm so that we may fill your spot with another deserving fan club member.
*If someone forfeits their party confirmation or is unable to attend, the next person on the RSVP list will be notified by the fan club.

Carrie Makes Trip to Africa for “Idol Gives Back”
NASHVILLE – (April 24, 2007) Two-time Grammy winner, reigning CMA Female Vocalist of The Year and American Idol Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood took a break from working on her next album in the early days of April to take a trip to South Africa for American Idol’s “Idol Gives Back” charity special. An exclusive music video package from her trip will air on the show April 25.
The African trip was organized by American Idol and Comic Relief, and during her two-day tour Underwood and three members of her band visited and played for schools, orphanages, hospices and health care centers in and around Johannesburg.
Underwood has also recorded an acoustic version of The Pretenders’ classic “I’ll Stand By You,” which will serve as the music bed for this American Idol video package.
American Idol and the Charity Projects Entertainment Fund (CPEF) have partnered to raise awareness and funds for organizations that provide relief programs to help children and young people in extreme poverty in America and Africa. For every vote cast, AMERICAN IDOL sponsors Coca-Cola and AT&T, along with a range of additional partners, will donate money to the charity. During the Wednesday, April 25 broadcast, adding to the corporate contributions, viewers will be able to make their own donations via toll-free lines and the Internet.

Carrie to perform at Academy of Country Music Awards!
Carrie Underwood has five nominations including Top Female Vocalist, Album of the Year for Some Hearts, along with Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year all for “Before He Cheats.” She was awarded two Academy of Country Music Awards last year—Top New Female and Single Record of the Year—in her first year to ever be nominated for a country music award.
The 42nd annual Academy of Country Music® Awards will air live from MGM Grand in Las Vegas Tuesday, May 15th at 8:00 pm ET/PT on CBS Television Network.
