Tell us your favorite Carrie Underwood memory: My favorite Carrie Underwood memory was one that changed my life and every time I think about it I smile. I had never seen Carrie Underwood live but had wanted to since the first time I saw her on American Idol. I saw on Twitter that she was going to be at the Grand Ole Opry in June 2018. I begged my dad to let me go and he bought us tickets. The day that she was going to be performing, we did a backstage tour. I was wearing a CU Fan Club shirt and a CU baseball hat. The security guard looked at me and told me that she had to check in with him before she could go backstage. He then asked me if there was anything that I wanted him to tell her for me. I got so excited and asked him if he would tell her that I was one of her biggest fans, if not the biggest and that her music changed my life. He asked which show I would be at that night and I told him the second one. He then told me that he would take care of it and for me to be ready to be on cloud nine that night and that it was going to be the best night of my life. Well, I had no idea how right he was. That night, just before she came out, the announcer said “Up next we have someone very special and there is a huge fan in the audience that I would like to help me welcome the next artist, so Victoria McNeil, would you help me welcome Carrie Underwood?!” I got so excited and jumped up and started screaming. Then as Carrie Underwood came walking out, she said “Hi Victoria, thank you for your support!” Then a usher came up to me and told me that the security guard had told him to come find me and that he wanted me to sit front and center on the front row while Carrie Underwood was singing so that I could have the best experience possible and remember that night for the rest of my life. I then got to see her two more times within the next 3 days. I went from not seeing her live at all to seeing her at the Grand Ole Opry, CMT Awards and CMA Music Festival all within four days.

What is your go-to Carrie-Okie song? Jesus Take the Wheel

CARRIE UNDERWOOD ANNOUNCES UK HEADLINE ARENA TOUR

CU-UK-tour-admat-800x800
Multi-platinum superstar and seven-time GRAMMY® Award winner Carrie Underwood has announced a major UK arena tour for Summer 2019, The Cry Pretty Tour UK. Underwood made the announcement this morning in a personal video to her fans:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BulIL3hlQ-P/

She will be joined on the UK tour by special guests, The Shires, the UK’s best-selling country act of all time.

Underwood has made numerous visits to the UK over the course of her career. She helped establish UK and Ireland’s Country To Country Festival, the biggest celebration of country music outside North America, with headline performances during its first year in 2013, and again during its fourth year in 2016, which included a sold-out show at London’s O2 Arena. Underwood’s first UK concert performance included a sold-out night at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall in 2012.

Tickets for the UK shows will go on sale Thursday, March 7 via www.gigsandtours.com and www.ticketmaster.co.uk. As she has done for her North American shows, Underwood has arranged for a donation from each ticket sold for The Cry Pretty Tour UK to be contributed to Danita’s Children, which provides a safe haven for abandoned and vulnerable children in Haiti, while encouraging families to stay together through their education and malnutrition programs.

Also beginning Thursday, March 7, a limited number of exclusive VIP Packages will be available at www.sjm-vip.com which include an amazing selection of tickets, Meet & Greet, autographed memorabilia, and custom merchandise.

The biggest selling UK country act of all time, The Shires will join Underwood on her UK arena tour this Summer. The duo released their debut album Brave in March 2015, which became the first British country album ever to enter the UK top ten. Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes have been going from strength-to-strength ever since, and released their highly anticipated third album Accidentally on Purpose earlier last year.

THE CRY PRETTY TOUR UK:
Friday, June 28 / Birmingham, England – Birmingham Resorts World Arena
Sunday, June 30 / Cardiff, Wales – Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
Tuesday, July 2 / Glasgow, Scotland – The SSE Hydro

One year after garnering worldwide attention opening NBC’s Super Bowl LII, Carrie Underwood’s hit event anthem, “The Champion,” featuring Ludacris, has been certified Platinum by the RIAA. Underwood co-wrote “The Champion” with fellow songwriters Brett James, Chris DeStefano, and Christopher Bridges PKA Ludacris, who Underwood asked to collaborate on the event song produced by Jim Jonsin. NBC Sports also incorporated “The Champion” into its coverage of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

Globally, “The Champion” reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 10 countries including the U.S. where it held the top spot throughout its release week then rose back to the top of the chart for four consecutive days after the Super Bowl LII opening. The song also debuted Top 5 on the all-genre Top 200 Digital Songs chart and reached No. 7 on the Spotify US Viral 50 Chart with over 151 million streams to date. The poignant and powerful montage video, directed by Jimmy Lynch, won CMT’s 2018 Video Music Award for Female Video of the Year. Additionally, “The Champion” is featured as a bonus track on Underwood’s critically-acclaimed, Gold-certified sixth studio album, Cry Pretty. Released in September 2018, Underwood’s first studio album on Capitol Records Nashville, debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Country Album Charts and was the biggest all-genre debut by a female in 2018.

Co-produced by Underwood and writer/producer David Garcia, that debut earned Underwood a place in music history as the only woman to land four country albums at the top of the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, as well as the first female country act to top the Billboard Artist 100 Chart. The album was the best-selling Country album debut of 2018, as well as the biggest Country album debut since 2015 and the biggest female Country album debut since 2012. Cry Pretty’s debut week also marked the most first week streams by any female in Country music. It is Underwood’s seventh consecutive album to debut at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart, representing all of her first seven albums including her Greatest Hits: Decade #1. Underwood, who is nominated for Country Artist of the Year at the upcoming iHeartRadio Music Awards, was also Apple Music’s most-streamed Country female artist for 2018. Cry Pretty debuted as the fifth most-streamed Country album in genre history and had the highest solo female debut for all music in 2018. It recently hit #1 again on the Country Album Charts in January, 2019. The second single from the album, “Love Wins,” continues to climb the charts.

The seven-time Grammy winner and Pollstar’s three-time top female country touring artist will kick off a new arena tour, The Cry Pretty Tour 360, this Spring. Sponsored by CALIA, the tour will kick off on May 1 in Greensboro, NC, and will play 55 arenas across the U.S. and Canada and will be promoted by AEG Presents. She will be joined on tour by special guests Maddie & Tae and Runaway June.

What is one thing that sets you apart from other Carrie Underwood fans? Carrie’s music has always been an constant in my life. I never have to feel alone, just turn on one of her songs and immediately disappear into the story. I loved watching her interviews when I was younger I valued her opinion so much. I looked up to her more then anyone, being the only role model I truly had. I knew she was a humble person! When I went to my first show I cried the entire time. I felt like I was free. I will always look up to Carrie, forever owing her the biggest thank you for all her music and the everlasting support she has given through her music. One day my dream will come true and I will meet her.

Tell us your favorite Carrie Underwood related story: My first concert, I drove to PA with my best friend at the time… we had stayed up all night the night before because we were too excited. I cried the whole concert because I couldn’t believe I was there. We scream sang every song. I didn’t have a voice for 3 days after that night. To this day I still have the confetti from that concert !

What was the very first Carrie Underwood song you heard? Inside Your Heaven

How many years have you been a Carrie Underwood fan? Since 2005

How many Carrie Underwood shows have you been to? 6

What is the farthest you have travelled for a Carrie Underwood show? Charlotte, NC @ 3.5 hours

What is one thing that sets you apart from other Carrie Underwood fans? I just love her. When she cries on stage I cry, when she’s happy and glowing I’m happy with her. I’m a die hard fan, I’m always saving for the next tour and planning how to get to see her. I’m just a wife and a mom who slightly obsessed about my idol 🙂

Tell us your favorite Carrie Underwood related story: I had my first meet and greet with Carrie on the Storyteller tour in Roanoke Va. I was sooooo nervous! But as soon as I received my email that I had been chosen, I started to think about what I wanted to say to her when we met. It instantly came to mind. So that day when I met Carrie, I totally put my foot in my mouth by saying “I’m so nervous” her response was “Don’t be” mine was “that’s easy for you to say!” Man I instantly felt like an idiot! But I knew I was on a mission and I wanted to tell her what I had been waiting to tell her for years. I told Carrie that I lost my mom to cancer in 2010 and her music helped me cope with that loss. Some days are so hard but her music makes me happy and gives me hope. I just had to tell her that so I did, and she was so kind to say “I’m so sorry” I just wanted her to know she helped me during the darkest time of my life and I’m thankful for her. We hugged and took our picture! What a awesome opportunity! I’m so thankful!
